E is for Exploits

Hackers try to find ways to exploit bugs and loopholes in popular software in order to get a back door into people’s computers. This leads to a kind of ‘cat and mouse game’ between hackers and software developers. Hackers find a loophole in the software they can exploit and the software developers fix their software as soon as a threat is known, so the hackers can no longer use the methods they’ve discovered. The fix to the loophole or bug the hackers are exploiting is released in an update to the software. Which is why you should always check your software, including the operating system, is always the very latest version. But don’t wait for the update to come through, make sure your PC is kept safe by using a good PC security software suite such as Kaspersky Internet Suite.
